Dr. Sergio Capareda, Ph.D., P.E.

Biography

Dr. Capareda leads Circon's scientific direction. He heads the Bio Energy Testing and Analysis Laboratory at Texas A&M AgriLife Research and is Professor and Faculty Fellow in the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at Texas A&M University.

He authored “Introduction to Biomass Energy Conversions” and “Introduction to Renewable Energy Conversion”, both published by CRC Press and used as the foundation for undergraduate and graduate renewable energy courses at Texas A&M.

An award-winning scientist, he has authored more than 117 refereed journal articles on biofuels conversion — particularly pyrolysis and gasification — air quality and waste management, and holds two US patents related to biofuel production and thermal conversion of biomass feedstock. He has helped build commercial gasification systems in Texas and Nebraska.
